Certainly no country can pretend on being stainless in handling their foreign affairs, especially countries with an old history of colonialism like France. And yet there is a different quality TODAY in the way things are handled and discussed among the citizens; information, criticisms and debates circulate freely, and we choose our leaders. I believe those are important ways to improve. In comparison, through which mechanism will the Chinese government become more ethical? Even though much remains to improve in French foreign policy, in particular in Africa, the NGOs are relatively free to work there and there are many positive initiatives, both governmental and NG. Compare that to the way the Chinese work in Africa... And where are the Chinese NGOs? But yet again things may evolve the right way, cf Jet Li's initiative --> http://cnreviews.com/ngo/jet_li_one_foundation_chinese_ngo_spreading_the_disease_of_love_20080611.html

Maybe some day it will REALLY become the people's republic:)acroMarcohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00779014886926996882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28503676.post-6717158891855218812008-11-09T19:07:00.000-08:002008-11-09T19:07:00.000-08:00Marc, when you want to make comments on another co...Marc, when you want to make comments on another country, in this case China, have you also objectively thought about French foreign policies in other countries in the past? Were these policies all well-intended or were there anything that appear well-intended on the surface but in fact is not underneath?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28503676.post-91815905530396278602008-03-30T11:13:00.000-07:002008-03-30T11:13:00.000-07:00I agree mostly with u. As a Chinese in abroad I have to face the tragic truth in my country and on the people, even i feel tired of those topics, because that I also feel responsible for my country. That is the mother country, sometimes u can proud of it and sometimes u feel shamed of it. Thanks because that u as a foreigner take care about the evolution of this huge country. I only want to give two points to notice:
1.Chinese government is very famous to lie for the world, they even don't know how could they lie better.I don't believe all of their sentences. but I also don't believe all what do the west Publishes say about China(not only about government), China is still as a enemy illustration in the west world. Of course, the west Publishes don't lie, they just told u the Truth which they want to tell u about China. That made good news to sell and focus. I wish that Chinese government don't learn this anymore from west to make US as a biggest enemy illustration in China. And at the same time to popularize all of American pop culture there.
2. Do u know what the most Chinese population think about and want? of course they get their education in China and can not officially get many information like in west world. But some of them in China still use their head to think and work on it. i always wonder how much they know about the west world, of course dominant west culture is a main reason. but still how much a westerner knows about China. Mao, culture revolution and Tian'anmen events, they r most our famous things in the world now. Chinese focus just maybe too different points in their own country than Westerner. i don't mean they should forget human rights or damage our earth. i am often very sad as a Chinese today. that is why i thank u to help my country, but please think about HOW ! human rights is not the only thing u can do or u can focus about China.
P.S.i told u personally, i don't like to write in any kind of forms of open publishes. i want to change it step by step.stupiedbearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08447235457714602722noreply@blogger.com
